The great thing about art is that it can just be a very rewarding hobby or it can be a very rewarding career... and it can also be anywhere on a sliding scale between the two :)
Woo! That's looks so good, love the shadows on the snow! I got some watercolour oils to try your birches and crimson maples but I usually paint in watercolour so this is super interesting for me 👍

@@heatherbennett1129 There will be no meltdowns 😄 because I’m in process mode… the first thing I do is give the painting permission to fail. I fully expect to create a number of failed or mediocre paintings before I get to “the one”. When a painting goes into the ditch I’ll just try to figure what went wrong so I don’t do that again… and then move on to the next one 😊👍

It's pretty good for first time in 20 years, you can also use negative painting technic with watercolor, there is so much you can do with watercolor good luck!!!You can mask the trees also this might be a little easier for you so you can play with background more if you know there exactly the trees are.
@@moonlightgator I’ve already ordered the masking fluid 😊 and looking forward into incorporating that and negative shapes and all the other techniques specific to watercolour 👍

I am very proud of you! Yes, it is a very big challenge to do oils and then watercolors. I think of this as a musician playing let say a clarinet, and one wishes to put a piece of music arrangement to a saxophone. It take time with the new instrument/medium. Yes, it means to become friends with new instrument or in our case a new medium. So, there is base knowledge that will come back readily but do be patient with your self, seeing , hands doing. Very proud of you and your humility and extreme skills, continue to inspire me. Picked a good teacher/mentor though the web, Thank you!
Thank you so much... I finally started in process mode with the watercolours yesterday and it came back very quickly... and I have some ideas about various techniques that will mimic the look of my oils. I'll be documenting and posting the process along the way 😊👍

This may sound odd, but just acknowledge the nervousness, then begin to “walk through it” as you paint. As your images take shape, a sense of peace will come over you and the nerves will dissipate. Your art has found its new owner, and he will be so amazed and overwhelmed by the beauty of your work. Continue to give your absolute best effort, and it will be appreciated and rewarded.
